Our little town has a remarkable history and is the gateway to one of the finest lake landscapes in Mecklenburg, which includes Schaalsee and its idyllic shores. Zarrentin am Schaalsee was first documented in 1194. At its heart is its original Romanesque fieldstone church and its convent.
